INTIMATE PORTRAITS
Intimate portraits made with you, not imposed on you. We work with light, space, clothing, movement and the amount of direction that helps. You decide what is visible and what stays private.
WHO BOOKS THIS
You do not need a reason to be seen.
Some people come with a clear idea. Some only know that they want to see themselves differently from the way they usually do.
You can arrive confident, uncertain, curious or all three at once.
Nothing has to be fixed first.
COMFORT AND CONTROL
Comfort is not a requirement.
You decide what is visible, what stays private and when something has gone far enough. I will be clear about what I am doing and why. You can change your mind at any point. Nervousness does not mean the session is failing. It means we are working with something real.
You remain in control.
HOW IT WORKS
How it works
I usually allow two to three hours for a session. We begin somewhere familiar: your home, your neighbourhood or a place that feels like yours.
Sometimes we start photographing quickly. Sometimes we talk for half an hour or an hour first because that is what the situation needs. I do not treat that conversation as time lost from the photographs.
If we need longer afterwards to make enough work together, I stay longer. I do not rush the session simply because it took time to arrive in it.
When we photograph, I work with light, composition and the amount of direction that helps.
The clock does not decide when we are done.

THE APPROACH
Some of it is built precisely, sometimes down to the millimetre: where you stand, where the light falls and what is inside the frame.
Then I pay attention to what happens within that structure. A movement I did not plan. A pause. The way your posture changes when an instruction is no longer the most important thing in the room.
The photograph can be quiet, strange, sensual, guarded or direct. It does not have to conform to one fixed idea of what an intimate portrait should look like.
My aim is specificity, not a standardised result.

I have been photographing people since 2007. The technical part, the light, the lens and the composition, is my responsibility. You do not have to manage any of it. Trust is different. I cannot manufacture it or demand that you open up for the camera. I can explain what I am doing, listen, give direction when it helps and make room for the session to develop at your pace.
